The Brands We Carry
Kutani ware (九谷焼, Kutani-yaki) is a renowned Japanese porcelain traditionally thought to originate from Kutani, now part of Kaga in Ishikawa Prefecture. It is divided into two main periods: Ko-Kutani (17th-18th centuries) and Saikō-Kutani (19th century revival).
Ko-Kutani is famous for its bold, vivid designs and five-color gosai-de (五彩手) style—green, blue, yellow, purple, and red. Often made in Arita, Ko-Kutani is closely linked to Imari or Arita ware.
